Clan of Xymox has been in the unfortunate billet of perpetually beingness compared to other bands since their inception. Whether it's the Cure or Joy Division, Clan of Xymox has never been capable to shake cancelled the similarities to their influences. Nevertheless, the group has produced an telling torso of work that consistently absorbed new sounds spell left close to the '80s goth rock menu.

Kin of Xymox was formed in Nijmegen, Netherlands, in 1983 by Ronny Moorings (vocals, guitar) and Anka Wolbert (sea bass, vocals). A class later, Moorings and Wolbert moved to Amsterdam, cathartic the LP Subsequent Pleasures as Xymox. (The album was limited to five hundred copies.) Xymox then became the opening act for Dead Can Dance in England. The band's presence on Dead Can Dance's U.K. tour caught the interest of 4AD Records, and the label eventually signed them. A class later, Xymox elongated their discover to Clan of Xymox and recorded a self-titled album in 1985, followed by Medusa the next year. In 1987, the group shortened their designation to Xymox in one case once again, contributory some other version of "Muscoviet Mosquito," originally on Subsequent Pleasures, to the 4AD compilation Lonesome Is an Eyesore. After the release of the undivided "Blind Hearts," Xymox left 4AD and joined Polygram/Wing.

In 1989, Xymox released Twist of Shadows, their most commercially successful LP, marketing 300,000 copies. The infectious and uncharacteristically upbeat "Capital of Arizona of My Heart" landed on the modern sway charts in 1991. However, the full-length Genus Phoenix didn't do as well as Turn of Shadows. Wolbert at rest from the band that year, replaced by bassist Mojca Zugna. In 1992, Xymox left Polygram/Wing for ZOK Records. Xymox record two albums for ZOK Records -- 1992's Metamorphosis and 1993's Headclouds -- in front switch to Tess Records in 1997 for the record album Hidden Faces. Moreover, Moorings called the group Clan of Xymox once again.

In 1999, they signed with the Metropolis pronounce and released Creatures, which was followed a year by and by by the two-CD Hot. The 2001 record album Notes from the Underground was reinterpreted on the double remix CD Remixes from the Underground, which landed in 2002. Farewell from 2003 was a themed album with bittersweet nightshade goodbyes to lovers and friends the main topics. The 2004 appeal The Best of Clan of Xymox constitute latter-day highlights side by side to re-recordings of the band's early material. Two long time later, the album Breaking Point was proclaimed by the single "Weak in My Knees."

The Backstreet Boys [ tickets ] have fleshed out the North American portion of their ongoing world tour, adding a full slate of summer dates behind their latest set, "Unbreakable."The teen-pop idols, who recently completed a brief run of shows in South Africa, kick off the American outing July 29 in St. Johns, Newfoundland. The first leg of the tour has the group hitting 25 cities through early September, including the beginnings of a West Coast leg. Details are below."Unbreakable," the group's most recent album, hit stores last fall. The Boys enlisted an all-star roster of producing talent including Billy Mann (Sting, Celine Dion) and 'N Sync's JC Chasez to complete the album, which is the follow-up to 2005's "Never Gone.""We spent about 14 months on it," group member Brian Littrell told LiveDaily during an interview late last year. "We're happy and proud of the record. It's really the Backstreet Boys of old and where we're headed in the future. We've been at it for quite some time. It's still an honor to be in the fickle music business after 15 years and still making CDs and still having fans who want to hear the music. So we're proud of it."The album, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the group's weakest chart performance to date, is Backstreet Boys' first effort without founding member Kevin Richardson, who departed the group on amicable terms in 2006."Vocally, we wanted to have it as strong as it could be and the songs be as strong as they can be," Littrell said. "A lot of people know what the Backstreet Boys sound like. It is what it is. We have to continue to sound like that with or without him."Backstreet Boy A.J. McClean surprised fans this week when he put tickets on sale for a pair of sneak-preview solo concerts this weekend in Los Angeles."After 13 years with the Backstreet Boys, and 75 million records sold worldwide, A.J.'s excited to take a step out on his own and present his music, in his style," McLean's manager, Eric Podwall, told People Magazine this week.McLean and the rest of the Boys are expected to enter a recording studio next year to work on the follow-up to "Unbreakable," according to People.
